We grieve in light of the Supreme Court decision — June 15, 2020
“Watch and pray!”
God is waiting for those who will share His anguish and grieve with Him, those who will bring Him comfort by confessing their sins and humbly submitting to His wrath. Unwittingly, they are living proof of His love, because they never lose confidence in the love of God.

Dear Sisters of Canaan in the Desert,
My name is Jared. My family and I have visited your prayer garden several times, and we are always impacted by the tranquil faith and love for the Lord that characterizes your order.
I received word of your grief over this vile Supreme Court decision in my email today. I want you to know that I join you in lamenting the decision of the Supreme Court, for this grieves not only us in our corporeal bodies, but it also grieves the Holy Spirit and our Lord as well. All of this is evidenced within Scripture.
Firstly, the Torah prohibits such deeds. As Moses wrote in Leviticus 18:22, “‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” Secondly, as Our Lord predicted regarding the last days in Matthew 24:12, “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Furthermore, St. Paul adds that “They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.” (Romans 1:25-27).
As we can see, God’s Word takes a firm stance against homosexuality, but we rejoice that by His blood, all may repent and turn from sin, and all may partake in the free gift of salvation from sin and death by the love of Christ, for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one may come unto God except through Him (John 14:6). Praise God for His infinite, tender mercies, and for sending us His only-begotten Son , that by believing in Him, we may have everlasting life. (John 3:16).
I praise God for you, Sisters, and I rejoice that He has blessed your convent and made it a beacon of God’s light and love to all who visit. May you be abundantly blessed.
Love in Christ,
Jared
